About Me

I am Jalynn Smith, a freshman at the University of Alabama. I’m currently debating between majoring in Journalism or Public Relations with a double minor in African American Studies and Communication Studies. I’m a social media hashtag activist suffering from an addiction to everything that has to do with communications, books, and white rice. Seriously, if you pair it with white rice I will probably love it.  Oh,yeah, I also like to sing in to my webcam, hence the picture. I went to an Arts high school: Booker T. Washington Magnet High in Montgomery, Alabama. For four years I studied creative writing (all aspects: screenwriting, sketch comedy, creative nonfiction, etc.). By my senior year I had become the editor of the school’s literary magazine, become a published author, and won a gold and silver key in the Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards, and attended the state’s Poet Laureate ceremony for Andrew Glaze.
